About the Role

We are looking for a curious and motivated Editorial Intern with a passion for writing, pop culture, and music discovery. As an editorial intern at The FADER, you will be an active member of our editorial team and work closely with our editors and writers on covering music news, conducting artist interviews, and writing social copy.

Responsibilities

• Learn to cover music news from new releases to tour announcements.
• Contribute to FADER tentpole series like Songs You Need.
• Assist the editorial and social team in transcribing interviews and story research.
• Learn our CMS to format and build web stories according to The FADER’s style guide.
• Interview artists, write about cultural trends, and research regional scenes.
• Attend concerts and other live events on behalf of The FADER.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program studying Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, or a related field.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work quickly and with accuracy.
• Willingness to learn.
• Curiosity about music and culture across genres.
• Resume (PDF) required for application.
• One-page cover letter required for application, detailing current listening habits and suitability for The FADER.
