About the Role

We are hiring software engineers to build the systems around our robots, including the data and infrastructure for model training, tools for researchers and operators, and the product for partners. This is an implementation role focused on building systems for training, evaluating, and deploying models.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production software supporting research and operations.
• Own systems end-to-end, from need identification through deployment and iteration.
• Collaborate directly with ML researchers, robotics engineers, and robot operators.
• Debug issues across services, storage, network, and hardware.
• Build logging, monitoring, and diagnostics for system health.
• Re-architect systems to handle order-of-magnitude increases in scale.
• Utilize AI coding agents to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Routinely improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building and shipping production software.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Linux, and Git.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-based services, APIs, and databases.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Strong cross-stack debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work from a described problem rather than a written specification.
• Experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) and validating generated code.
• Demonstrated ownership and initiative in problem-solving.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and taking ownership of ambiguous problems.
