About the Role
Software Developer designs, develops, tests, and maintains enterprise software applications, RESTful APIs, and system integrations. Working within an Agile/Scrum environment, the role collaborates closely with product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions. The developer participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement through CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders, technology, and agile project managers to define business requirements for every scrum / project and map out end-to-end solutions
- Design, develop, enhance, modify, and maintain application code and software solutions based on specific business requirements
- Liaise with internal user groups as needed to effectively program applications based on business and systems requirements
- Ensures that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating creative solutions
- Be an integral part of the Information System’s team focused on the effective development and support of internal facing applications
- Work collaboratively with peers and business partners to deliver high quality projects and innovative solutions that advance Fidelity’s position within the Mutual Fund Industry
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics or Mathematics or equivalent working experience
- 2+ years of experience in software development, preferable in the financial services/mutual fund/investment industry
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum methodology, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, testing, and deployment processes
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Skills
- Angular 19+
- Java
- RESTful API design, development, integration, and support
- Progress 4GL/RDBMS application development and database management
- PostgreSQL, including database design, SQL development, and Stored Procedures
- Boomi for application integration, API management, and data synchronization between systems
- Experience working in the financial services and/or mutual fund industry, with knowledge of investment, fund administration, trading, or wealth management systems
- Experience using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, and productivity tools) to improve development efficiency and software quality
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and innovative problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while being in a team environment
- Strong technical insight and experience to inform, guide, challenge and support technical decisions

- $101,000 to $118,000
