About the Role
Garden Gate Health Care Facility is seeking a Clinical Instructor (LPN) to support CNA and nursing education programs through hands-on training, mentoring, competency evaluations, and staff development. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about teaching and helping caregivers succeed.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate CNA trainees during clinical training.
- Assess competencies through observation, demonstrations, and skills validation.
- Provide coaching, remediation, and performance feedback to trainees.
- Complete training documentation, evaluations, and educational records.
- Support CNA and nursing orientation, onboarding, and ongoing education programs.
- Mentor newly hired CNAs and nurses and assist with performance improvement plans.
- Conduct rounds to provide coaching and support to nursing staff.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, surveys, and staff education activities.
- Assist with QAPI, Safety Committee, and other assigned programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Valid NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License required.
- Minimum 2 years of LPN experience in a long-term care setting; 3-5 years preferred.
- Strong teaching, coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of CNA training requirements, infection control, resident rights, and long-term care regulations.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management abilities.
- Ability to support staff development and foster a positive learning environment.
