About the Role

Arvato is seeking a mid-level corporate attorney to support procurement and commercial contracting activities, providing legal guidance to various stakeholders and managing legal and business risk.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate vendor and supplier agreements, master services agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), change orders, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), software, SaaS, and technology license agreements, professional services and consulting agreements, and other commercial and operational contracts.
  • Partner with procurement and business teams to support sourcing initiatives, manage contractual risk, and ensure alignment with company policies.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and commercial terms.
  • Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of contract templates, playbooks, and internal guidelines.
  • Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory developments relevant to commercial contracting, data protection, transportation management, and vendor relationships.
  • Assist with internal policies, procedures, and selected employment or compliance matters in collaboration with HR and compliance teams.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 2–7 years of hands-on legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, with a significant focus on procurement, vendor, supplier, technology, SaaS, professional services, or other operational agreements.
  • Direct responsibility for issue-spotting, drafting revisions, negotiating with counterparties, and advising internal business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze contract risk, propose practical revisions, and explain legal and business implications to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent writing, oral communication and analytical skills, including critical thinking and business judgment.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume contract workload with appropriate supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with business colleagues.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
