About the Role
This role is responsible for the safe, secure, and timely transport of high-value shipments while adhering to all regulatory, procedural, and safety protocols. Armed Guards operate in a high-security, high-responsibility environment and must maintain constant vigilance, professionalism, and control during all transport activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate armored vehicles and ensure the secure transportation of valuable cargo.
- Follow all assigned routes and schedules while adhering to company security procedures.
- Perform vehicle inspections before and after each shift.
- Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation, manifests, and delivery records.
- Load and unload shipments using best security practices.
- Communicate with dispatch, clients, and team members via secure channels.
- Respond to emergency situations and potential threats in line with company protocol.
- Comply with New York State armed guard regulations and all internal policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean record (minimum of 3 years).
- New York State Security Guard License (Required).
- 47-hour firearms training certificate issued by a certified New York State training school (Required).
- Armored Car Guard License
- Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate for DOT compliance or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication, observation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and safely operate hand trucks or dollies.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and firearm qualification.
- Experience in armored car operations, military, law enforcement, or armed security.
- Familiarity with logistics, transportation routes, and security technology (radios, GPS, tracking devices).
- Knowledge of NYS laws related to firearms and private security.
