About the Role

Laborers are responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites for building renovation and erection. Duties include material handling, understanding plans, operating machinery, pouring concrete, and assisting other construction workers.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the building and renovation of structures for commercial apartments, businesses, retail, assisted living facilities, and other construction sites
• Assist with demolition activities
• Provide support to construction managers
• Keep work areas clean and free of debris
• Prepare construction sites by removing debris and eliminating potential hazards
• Load or unload building materials
• Help build or dismantle bracing, barricades, forms, scaffolding and temporary structures
• Excavate trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth
• Operate or tend to equipment and machines, such as concrete mixers
• Help other craft workers with their duties
• Follow construction plans and instructions from on-site supervision

Requirements

• Be capable of understanding plans and specifications
• Be able to lift 70 lbs
