About the Role

The Research Associate will support the Philip D. Reed senior fellow and director of the Energy, Security, and Climate Change program within CFR's David Rockefeller Studies Program, a leading foreign policy think tank.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research, fact-checking, study group organization, and editorial tasks for a book on energy and climate.
  • Edit, format, and prepare reports and other publications.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing travel, coordinating with external organizations, handling correspondence, scheduling, and responding to information requests.
  • Conduct research on topics related to the fellow's work.
  • Coordinate events and meetings, including invitations, travel arrangements, speaker correspondence, background material preparation, and logistical support.
  • Assist with social media outreach, including blog, website, video, podcast, and social media application use.
  • Support other fellows and departments as requested.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in an area related to energy and climate economics, innovation, or geopolitics.
  • At least one year of related administrative and/or internship experience.
  • Specific experience writing or producing content for podcasting and social media.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and tasks independently and under deadlines.
  • Strong research skills and ability to perform well on highly varied assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members, in person and remotely, in a collegial and cooperative fashion under deadline.
