About the Role

This internship offers a comprehensive learning experience in all facets of book marketing, providing exposure to broader publishing teams and an overview of the department's structure and various roles within the publishing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Associate Director with operations including scheduling titles, pricing reviews, format reviews, cover tracking, and galley tracking.
  • Collaborate with multiple divisions to track and oversee the production of Special Editions and Retailer Exclusive Editions.
  • Support Marketing Managers with campaigns, including developing ad taglines and organizing book giveaways.
  • Attend Imprint meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Create social videos, graphics, and photography for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Conduct influencer research and outreach.
  • Send advance reading copies and swag packages to Booksellers, Librarians, and influencers.

Requirements

  • Completion of university or college education, or equivalent/relevant work experience in marketing, communications, or publishing.
  • Interest in marketing or publishing.
  • Must be eligible to work and be paid in Canada.
  • Resume and cover letter required; cover letter should not exceed two pages.
  • Cover letter must outline interest in publishing, learning objectives for the internship, and a favorite book, author, genre, and the reasons why.
