About the Role

Arch Insurance Group Inc. (AIGI) seeks a Professional Liability Claims Specialist to manage Professional Liability claims, focusing on Lawyers Professional Liability, across the United States. This role is crucial for mitigating indemnity and expense exposure while ensuring timely and accurate claim resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement timely and accurate resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposure.
  • Develop and implement coverage issue strategies aligned with overall matter strategy.
  • Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain/review coverage counsel.
  • Maintain communication with business line leaders, underwriters, defense counsel, program managers, and brokers.
  • Investigate claims and review insured materials, pleadings, and other relevant documents.
  • Identify and review applicable jurisdictional statutes, rules, and case law.
  • Analyze and direct risk transfer, additional insured, and contractual indemnity issues.
  • Retain and direct counsel according to resolution strategy.
  • Analyze coverage, liability, and damages for reserve assessment and recommendation.
  • Prepare and present written/oral reports to senior management on claim evaluation and reserve recommendations.
  • Maintain claim diaries, post reserves promptly, and respond to inquiries from stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to participate in active strategic discussions.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Willing and able to travel 15%.

Experience Level

  • Three to seven (3-7) years of working experience with a primary and or excess carrier, broker, or law firm supporting commercial accounts for specialty insurance claims.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • Proper & active adjuster licensing in all applicable states

Salary/Compensations

  • $111,100 - $172,465/year
