About the Role
The Client Site Liaison II works on-site at Clinical Pathology Laboratories in Austin, Texas, serving as a crucial link between the client and ARUP's various support divisions. This role involves direct client interaction to resolve specimen submission issues and answer questions, while also performing essential specimen processing and preparation for transport according to strict guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Aliquot, label and process ARUP specimens in accordance with the ARUP test directory.
- Prepare ARUP specimens for transport to ARUP in accordance with DOT and IATA guidelines.
- Handle, pack, and ship infectious substances.
- Pack and transport Category A and Category B specimens.
- Detect and resolve issues related to test or specimen submissions before shipping.
- Receive and initiate calls between the client site and ARUP.
- Provide clients with information regarding specimen requirements, fees, turnaround times, and referral laboratory vendors.
- Assist in distributing technical information, hotlines, test bulletins, and company updates to the client.
- Inform clients about ARUP's value-added services, such as ATOP, Connect, and Consult.
- Research pending test lists for ARUP specimens.
- Read, understand, and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the position.
- Order and maintain supplies related to ARUP testing and keep required inventories on hand.
- Locate ARUP documentation for Public Health reporting (does not report results).
- Adhere to CAP, NY, and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Maintain contact with local and regional couriers to ensure shipment schedules are maintained.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Utilize Clients LIS and ARUP Connect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must hold a current Certification of Completion for Handling, Packing and Shipping Infectious Substances.
- Must be familiar with all aspects of packing and transport of Category A, Category B.
- Must be competent with Clients LIS and ARUP Connect.
- Must comply with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
- Must use personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company/departmental policies.
- Requires stooping, reaching, and mobility to move between work sites and within the office.
- Requires frequent communication with others.
- Requires fine motor control for detailed tasks.
- Requires the ability to occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force for lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling.
