About the Role

Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries like food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, scalable, and productive. This role is critical in managing global payroll operations and transforming payroll infrastructure for a rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities

Own global payroll end to end, including function, team, systems, and vendors across roughly 30 countries and several hundred legal entities.
Manage the Workday and ADP operating model, utilizing Workday for data aggregation, HR and payroll workflows, and approvals, and ADP for processing, payment execution, and tax remittance.
Lead payroll transformation by consolidating fragmented international processes, improving accuracy, and rebuilding payroll infrastructure.
Own vendor strategy, including evaluation, selection, and governance of international payroll partners across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
Serve a layered workforce, including corporate, executive, and a large hourly population, ensuring accuracy and service quality.
Build and develop a lean payroll organization, setting standards for payroll excellence.

Requirements

15+ years in payroll experience.
At least 10 years of leadership experience, managing teams across multiple geographies or offshore Centers of Excellence.
Experience running complex multi-country payroll across a large number of legal entities spanning multiple continents.
Command of international compliance, tax, and statutory requirements across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
Deep, hands-on Workday experience, including implementation (re-implementation is a strong plus).
Familiarity with the Workday and ADP operating model.
Experience evaluating or running dedicated international payroll vendors (e.g., Safeguard Global, Papaya Global, CloudPay).
Experience owning end-to-end payroll transformation, including system consolidation, accuracy improvement, and employee experience enhancement.
Experience scaling within a high-growth company that maintained lean G&A.
Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment.

$223,000 - $262,000 per year
