About the Role

Sage Hospitality Group is hiring a Full-Time House Person (AM & PM) for the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and order of public areas, ensuring a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Walk all assigned floors at the beginning and end of shift, removing newspapers and room service trays, emptying trash receptacles.
• Remove trash and/or linens and note any areas that require immediate cleaning.
• Clean all public areas in a prescribed manner while following safety procedures and regulations, including hallways, elevators, service areas, stairwells, etc.
• Remove soiled linens, towels, and trash from service areas and transport them to the appropriate locations.
• Assist room attendants as needed.
• Stock linens and supply closets to ensure inventories are on par.
• Report any lost/found items, damages, or merchandise issues to your supervisor or manager.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Ability to meet appearance standards.
• Ability to communicate with guests and coworkers.
• Push vacuum cleaner the entire length of the hallway, carry supplies from the department to the assigned floor, carry soiled linens to the laundry area, remove room service trays, and carry soiled dishes to the service area.
• Bend/Kneel - position requires bending and kneeling to reach all areas. Room service trays are placed on the floor for pickup. Bending would be necessary to retrieve soiled dishes.
• Mobility - movement to reach all areas: shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, under and around furniture.
• Continuous Standing - continuously standing and/or walking to accomplish all that is required for the position.
• Climb Stairs - approximately 40 steps 15% of the 40-hour week.
