About the Role

The Reservations Agent is responsible for greeting, booking, and executing all dining reservations and special requests. This role provides extraordinary service and information on CN Tower Food and Beverage products and services, while also staying informed about other CN Tower offerings and city events. The agent must possess a positive attitude to enhance the guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Answer reservation phone lines and assist guests with inquiries and reservation requests.
  • Assist with expediting guests into and out of the dining room.
  • Greet, confirm reservations, and check in guests.
  • Work coat check for the Restaurants, MLC, and special events.
  • Solicit guests for the 360 Restaurant.
  • Handle requests for last-minute changes to reservation times/guest numbers.
  • Ensure priority treatment and check-in of VIP and regular guests.
  • Create and maintain a sense of excitement at the restaurant entrance, including name recognition.
  • Provide escorts to assigned tables, pointing out restaurant features.
  • Prepare, respond to, and input Third Party Requests (TPR's), Special Request Forms, and Cake Forms.
  • Set up group contracts and general reservations.
  • Communicate special requests, occasions, celebrations, allergies, and other guest information to management.
  • Communicate and report any table or seating discrepancies with the Maitre’D.
  • Maintain knowledge of food and beverage outlets, including menu knowledge, product knowledge, and availability.
  • Follow daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Participate in departmental skills training and assist with new employees.
  • Assist Restaurant Managers and staff with other designated duties.
  • Adhere to all Company policies, departmental procedures, and the Collective Agreement.

Requirements

  • One (1) to three (3) years' related experience in the Food and Beverage industry is preferred.
  • Smart Serve certification is required.
  • A diploma from a secondary school is required.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of the day.
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Department uniforms are provided and must be worn during working hours.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of restaurant POS system and reservations software (Open Table) is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
  • Excellent guest services skills.
  • Ability to recommend CN Tower products.
