About the Role
Clio is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Engineering to lead the success of Clio's product suite across international markets, with a primary focus on the UKI, APAC, Canada, and other countries. This is a highly visible role at the intersection of global strategy, product execution, and regional partnership.
Responsibilities
- Stay close to the technology and code to get things done and help managers and directors understand possibilities.
- Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with engineering managers and directors.
- Lead the strategy and execution for Clio's international expansion, establishing regulatory, business, and cultural foundations.
- Utilize a builder's mindset to establish strategy, teams, and processes for international growth, including new markets.
- Partner with Product Management and Product Design leadership to develop and execute the international expansion roadmap.
- Champion the shift toward an AI-native engineering culture, with hands-on experience in adopting AI tooling and new work methods.
- Collaborate with the Recruiting/People team to hire top talent for international growth.
Requirements
- Experienced senior engineering leader comfortable with hands-on contribution while operating at the strategy layer.
- Strong 'builder' mindset, thriving on establishing and developing new teams, processes, and markets.
- Proven international SaaS experience, navigating diverse regulatory systems, business practices, and cultural expectations.
- AI proficient, with examples of shifting engineering culture towards AI-native ways of working.
- Adept at managing and mentoring high-performing teams, nurturing talent, and guiding professional growth.
- Experienced in crafting long-term strategies and managing technical roadmaps.
- Successful in running agile organizations at scale with a sense of urgency to deliver quality software.
- Demonstrated experience in promoting positive culture and diversity for transformational change in a large engineering organization.
- This role is a backfill for an existing position.

- $313,000 to $469,600 OTE (On-Target Earnings)
