We’re hiring a Server to work in our bright and welcoming dining room. Join us today and be part of a team of servers that will support with the set-up of the dining room and all aspects of serving and clean up associated with dining services within our retirement residence. Here, we believe mealtime is more than food; it’s friends and family coming together for good conversation and memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required
Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service
Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area
Assist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme events
Assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees
Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures
Be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it
Attend in-service training as required to better serve the needs of the residents
Attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in the Residence
Participate in the Quality Improvement Program
Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct
Complete all other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred
Previous experience working with seniors is preferred
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
Must have or be willing to obtain a current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) upon hire
