About the Role

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Server to join their team, contributing to a positive dining experience for residents in a bright and welcoming environment. This role is crucial in ensuring mealtime is a time for connection and memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests professionally and courteously.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as needed.
• Assist with cleaning dishware and cutlery after each dining service.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.
• Support catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and safe job procedures.
• Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
• Be aware of and respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities.
• Attend in-service training to better serve resident needs.
• Attend staff meetings to stay informed of changes within the Residence.
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
• Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy, particularly regarding ethics, morality, and integrity as outlined in the Company’s Code of Conduct.
• Complete all other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred.
• Previous experience working with seniors is preferred.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items.
• Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) upon hire.
