About the Role
The WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEE BACKUP DRIVER works under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, Assistant Manager, or Team Leader. This role is responsible for unloading and/or loading trucks, as well as picking/pulling and putting away tires/products. Our vision is to be the leading and most trusted provider of tires and services.
Responsibilities
- Unload semi-trailers and/or assist the loader for semi-trailers and route trucks.
- Use equipment and tools accurately and safely to verify, pull/pick, and put-away tires/products.
- Ensure tires/products are in designated locations with tags out and restocked as needed.
- Work safely at all times, including proper usage of equipment seat-belts and order picker harnesses.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
- Load multi-warehouse transfer trucks.
- Perform all job duties and responsibilities of Route Truck Driver I.
- Support Warehouse Manager’s decisions and company goals.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
- Support company goals and uphold K&M Values.
- Receive load through product number verification and check-in.
- Perform Amazon/Walmart pulling/picking and shipping.
- Load all route trucks.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Ability to communicate and express ideas effectively.
- Ability to learn tire knowledge.
- Possess a friendly, helpful, positive attitude.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds; 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate safely a fork lift, tire cart, pallet jack and order picker.
- Ability to learn and utilize scanning devices to accurately confirm tire and shipment.
- Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet job requirements of Route Truck Driver I.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Must meet minimum qualification of Route Driver Level I.
