About the Role
This role provides services to adults with a diagnosis of mental illness living in a group home. It's a great opportunity for college graduates or students to gain experience in human services, with training and staff development provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive counseling.
- Provide rehabilitation skills such as teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention, and prevention.
- Maintain a healthy and clean environment for clients.
- Perform household tasks such as cleaning, inventory, and medication counts.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Provide transportation to clients using agency vehicles.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability in helping others.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to be organized and possess good time management skills.
- Must have a personal vehicle to use for business purposes when not transporting clients.
Skills
- Human services experience preferred.
- Experience working with people who have a diagnosis of mental illness preferred.
- College classes in human services preferred.
- Valid and insurable driver's license preferred.
