About the Role

This role provides services to adults with a diagnosis of mental illness living in a group home. It's a great opportunity for college graduates or students to gain experience in human services, with training and staff development provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive counseling.
• Provide rehabilitation skills such as teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention, and prevention.
• Maintain a healthy and clean environment for clients.
• Perform household tasks such as cleaning, inventory, and medication counts.
• Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
• Provide transportation to clients using agency vehicles.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability in helping others.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to be organized and possess good time management skills.
• Must have a personal vehicle to use for business purposes when not transporting clients.

Skills

• Human services experience preferred.
• Experience working with people who have a diagnosis of mental illness preferred.
• College classes in human services preferred.
• Valid and insurable driver's license preferred.
