About the Role
The Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach provides leadership and oversight for the college's tennis programs, focusing on student-athlete development, competitive excellence, and academic achievement. This role ensures compliance with regulations, fosters a positive team culture, and contributes to the Athletics Department's strategic goals, including gender equity and inclusive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and organize all aspects of the Men's & Women's Tennis program.
- Ensure compliance with all NCAA, Skyline Conference, and College rules and regulations.
- Develop a successful tennis program through consistent training plans that prioritize student-athlete health and safety.
- Coordinate practice and competition schedules, team meetings, and daily communications with student-athletes.
- Recruit qualified student-athletes in adherence to NCAA rules, collaborating with Admissions and Financial Aid.
- Ensure the retention and academic eligibility of all student-athletes.
- Manage the annual operating budget and make fiscally responsible decisions under the guidance of the Director of Athletics.
- Develop a competitive tennis schedule in collaboration with the Director of Athletics and Associate Athletics Director.
- Develop annual fundraising campaigns to enhance the student-athlete experience.
- Manage the purchasing, accounting, and inventory of all equipment and uniforms.
- Implement and execute a Men’s & Women’s Tennis summer camps program.
- Represent Mount Saint Mary College at all Skyline Conference and NCAA Men’s & Women’s Tennis meetings.
- Serve as Event Manager for home competitions, overseeing student-athletes in event execution.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with various college departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or Vice President for Students.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two to four years of college coaching/recruiting experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated flexibility and professionalism.
- High standard of personal conduct and integrity.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
