About the Role
Operate a Company truck over designated routes to deliver or render services to customers following established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre and post-trip safety inspections of assigned vehicle.
- Drive truck in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Drive multi-axle truck or combination unit up to 80,000lbs (GVW) to designated delivery stops.
- Transport, deliver, and pick up product.
- Unload and/or pick up orders utilizing equipment on truck, including pallet jack, power jack, or by hand.
- Verify goods against order and obtain customer signature.
- Complete assigned delivery route in the predetermined sequence.
- Interact with customers in a courteous, cooperative, respectful, and professional manner.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must be able to safely operate the type of equipment assigned.
- Must be physically qualified and able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must possess a valid Class A CDL license from the state of residence (Class B CDL may be required at some locations).
- Must provide a list of moving violations and accidents for the past 3 years.
- Must not be disqualified to drive.
- Must have a road test certificate or equivalent (usually a CDL).
- Must have a history of on-time performance.
- Must meet all DOT (FMCSA) requirements.
- Must complete a DOT application.
- Must be able to maintain Electronic Logging Device (ELD) or paper logs.
- Proficient in basic math skills including units of measurement, multiplication, division, and subtraction.
- Ability to work independently.
- A minimum of 1 year of recent experience driving the type of equipment to be assigned in the past 3 years, or a total of 2 years of experience in the past 5 years.
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents in the past three years.
- No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years regardless of severity.
- No open violations (must show disposition date).
- No more than 2 of the same type of moving violations in the past 3 years.
- No more than 3 moving violations total in the past 3 years.
- No convictions for excessive speeding (15 mph or more above the posted speed limit) in the past 5 years.
- No convictions for careless, reckless, and/or unsafe driving in the past 5 years.
- No convictions for operating a vehicle with a revoked or suspended license in the past 5 years.
- No DUI/DWI convictions or refusals to test in the past 5 years.
- No driving under the influence of a controlled substance in the past 5 years.
- No convictions for leaving the scene of an accident in the past 5 years.
- No moving violation in connection with a fatal accident in the past 5 years.
- No vehicular manslaughter or vehicular homicide convictions in the past 5 years.
- No eluding a police officer convictions in the past 5 years.
