About the Role
Under the supervision of the Director, the floater will perform duties assigned by the Lead Teacher and may be asked to work in any of Ibero’s childcare programs.
Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Education Specialist
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with Ibero staff, staff from related agencies, community representatives and parents
- Assists Primary Caregivers and/or Lead Teachers in implementing a developmentally appropriate program
- Follows Ibero’s policies and procedures, NYS regulations and UPK standards
- Speaks positively and respectfully to children
- Supervises and ensures children’s safety during all activities
- Socializes with children during activities and at meal time using family style dining
- Quietly speaks and guides children for a calm transition
- Maintains the classroom to ensure that the environment is pleasant and safe
- Assists with minor cleaning duties as assigned
- Completes all work in a timely manner
- Attends scheduled staff meetings, parent meetings, trainings and daycare center events as assigned
- Keeps knowledge of children and families confidential
- Continues to develop professionally
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or delegates
Requirements
- Must be able to pass clearance through the NYS Central Registry
- Must have a good police record
- Must have good health
- Ability to work alternative work schedule to support program/parent evening and weekend activities, when needed
- Must show creativity and flexibility
- A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be accepted by the President and CEO
