About the Role
As a High Voltage Field Service Engineer, you will support the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage equipment up to 800kV. This role provides exposure to high voltage power equipment, field testing practices, and customer-facing service work, contributing to reliable power system infrastructure while building technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform field service activities involving installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of high voltage equipment
- Support commissioning, maintenance, overhaul, upgrade, and retrofit projects at customer sites
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment issues and assist with corrective actions
- Conduct testing activities and document results using established procedures
- Compile and review equipment and test data to support issue resolution
- Coordinate work activities with internal teams and customer representatives
- Identify opportunities to improve operations and customer service
- Support field service projects and the operation of field test equipment
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- 1 to 3 years of experience preferred in technical field service, construction, power equipment, or related technical environments
- Experience supporting installation, maintenance, testing, or repair of electrical or mechanical equipment
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude with knowledge of substation equipment, high voltage equipment, or electrical testing practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel extensively, up to 80%
