About the Role
West Monroe is seeking a Senior Consultant to join the Healthcare Practice team. This role involves partnering with health plans and dental plans to uncover opportunities, develop roadmaps, and deliver measurable improvements in outcomes. The Senior Consultant will lead client engagements, drive transformation initiatives, and contribute to practice growth.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients to implement processes and technology that drive business value and improve operational efficiency across business and technical functions.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define and design new business processes aligned to strategic objectives.
- Facilitate client workshops to define future state vision, business processes, and requirements across the healthcare ecosystem.
- Lead detailed requirements gathering and ensure alignment to business objectives.
- Lead package and solution evaluations aligned to industry leading practices within the healthcare ecosystem.
- Interface with stakeholders across all levels of client organizations and internal teams.
- Develop client-ready communications to support decision-making, communicate project status, mitigate risks, and resolve issues.
- Lead the development of key project deliverables including project plans, implementation plans, communication strategies, and financial models.
- Partner with engagement leadership to proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
- Collaborate with West Monroe and client team members to build and sustain high-performing, integrated project teams.
- Support business development efforts through contributions to proposals, project approaches, and client presentations.
- Contribute to practice development by building tools, methodologies, and reusable assets that enhance delivery quality and consistency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 4+ years of experience working in a team-based consulting environment and directly with external clients, with a strong understanding of healthcare industry operations.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: organizational transformation, process improvement, product development, or managing teams and workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and sound judgment.
- Experience working collaboratively on large-scale initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to senior and executive-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated presentation and business development skills, including supporting the sales process.
- Experience developing work plans, project scopes, and pricing estimates.
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities to manage and drive concurrent small to large initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong client relationship skills.
- Ability to travel to client-site [30–50%].
