About the Role
Emmy Squared Pizza- NYC is seeking a passionate and driven Assistant General Manager to support daily operations and lead the New York City team. This role is for a capable hospitality leader with strong operational experience, focused on leading teams, driving results, and delivering exceptional guest experiences within a dynamic restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and developing restaurant team members.
- Provide daily supervision, coaching, and support to ensure policies, procedures, and service standards are met.
- Supervise restaurant operations during shifts, inspect operational flow, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and health and safety standards.
- Oversee the floor during service, engage with guests, ensure all guests feel welcome, and lead service recovery efforts.
- Assist with managing labor schedules and adjusting staffing to meet business demands and financial goals.
- Facilitate meetings and trainings on operational procedures, policies, and service standards.
- Foster a positive, fun, and productive work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of restaurant management experience in a full-service restaurant required.
- Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate a high-performing team.
- Proficiency with computers and restaurant systems; POS, scheduling, and reservation systems experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities.
- Passion for food, hospitality, and providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead.
