About the Role
You will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will execute all standard work processes using AM and PM standards, ensure safety processes are observed, and perform quality assurance activities. You will understand and report equipment losses.
Responsibilities
- Set up reciprocating, rotary, and overhead rotary cutters.
- Obtain complete knowledge of oven operations including procedures for light up and shut down of different types of band ovens.
- Know safety procedures of ovens including power failure procedures.
- Monitor weight, gauge, speed controls, moisture, colour, oil, and any other quality specifications.
- Perform cleaning and troubleshooting of different types of cutters, conveyors, oilers, or other bakeshop equipment.
- Set up, clean, and ensure the proper functions of salters, flour dusters, seed dispensers and spray wash units.
- Perform sewing, repairing, cleaning, or tracking of belts as needed.
- Inform supervisor of substandard mix and to run off dough into scrap tables.
- Keep work area clean.
- Start and stop ovens at scheduled times.
- Be familiar with drive units, PIV gears, control panels, and the use of hand tools for line set-up where necessary.
- Have knowledge of the quality standards of embossing and weights.
- Set-up ovens’ bake profiles for all different SKUs.
- Accurately record all required data.
Requirements
- Operate machines with coaching.
- Understand safety and quality standards for operating machines.
- Read and write, and be fluently conversant in the language of communication as appropriate to the site.
- Collaborate well in a diverse work environment.
- Work in a safe competent manner, following rules and procedures as required.
- Report any unsafe condition to Supervisor.
- Have working knowledge of various safety programs.
- Keep work area neat and tidy at all times.
- Maintain personal hygiene, clean uniforms and hair nets.
- Take direction from Line Leader, bakeshop technical specialist or any competent person regarding any reasonable requirement.
- Inform supervision of substandard mix.
- Lift by hoist and pull cutting units (up to 75 pounds).
- Lift up to 25kgs bags multiple times per shift.
- Reach with full extension for dough units and pulling cutters out.
- Change cutter once daily.
- Use hand tools for setting-up the line.
- Accurately record data.
- Communicate effectively.
- Be physically agile and able to move with manual dexterity in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
- Have a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Proven ability to work under pressure.
- Have working knowledge of various safety programs (i.e. Safety Training Observation program, Workplace Hazardous Information System, Evacuation, etc.).
- Processing experience in an industrial setting is desired.

- $45,128.00 to $68,630.00 CAD
- Bonus program with a target of 5% with the possibility for overachievement
