About the Role

Under general supervision, this role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Business Technology suite of digital solutions within the Operations organization, balancing user needs with IT requirements. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, project solicitation and management, change management, solution testing, and KPI/report development. The role also involves support and maintenance in technology specialties and liaising with end users.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains relationships with Operations management and users to ensure systems function as designed.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge of business processes to facilitate and prioritize improvements.
  • Coordinates with the IT team to establish release dates and development system availability for testing.
  • Works with BSG to write test scripts, identify regression scripts, and publish them on the team site.
  • Assigns test scripts to BSG, communicating assignments and completion timeframes.
  • Escalates testing failures to the IT team and coordinates retesting with BSG.
  • Approves test results and ensures evidence is documented on the team site.
  • Partners with the IT team to coordinate releases with System Operations Centers.
  • Collects user feedback after release to identify and escalate new issues or unexpected results for troubleshooting.
  • Available to work emergency storm assignments as required.
  • Available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of electric and/or gas utility or related experience is required.
  • Must have a solid conceptual knowledge of Information Technology.
  • Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered.
  • Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the applications development and support process.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
  • Broad knowledge of technologies and technology issues, with experience in technology change management.
  • Previous experience using Maximo is preferred.
  • Supply Chain experience is also preferred.
