About the Role
The Financial Close Controller team is seeking a highly motivated manager to join the Controllers group's transformative initiative to become trusted, value-added business partners delivering financial results in an entirely new way through best-in-class people, processes, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Accounts Payable function for designated business units and legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate execution of invoice processing, payments, and vendor support activities.
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, and workload management for unionized employees supporting the function.
- Act as the Accounts Payable subject matter expert for third parties holding all or part of the designated business units and legal entities.
- Develop a strong understanding of applicable support service agreements and ensure Accounts Payable activities are performed in accordance with agreed-upon responsibilities and service levels.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators, dashboards, and reports to monitor service levels, operational efficiency, compliance, and team capacity.
- Foster effective collaboration with third-party stakeholders to support timely approvals, resolve operational issues, and promote improvements where applicable.
- Represent Accounts Payable as a subject matter expert on strategic and operational projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess impacts, define requirements, and support solution design, testing, and implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, Business Administration/Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA designation considered an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Proficiency in automation and artificial intelligence.
- Working knowledge of SAP-FI, SAP-BI, and related accounting systems considered an asset.
- Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and accountability.
- Ability to manage daily operational priorities while ensuring timely and accurate execution of functional activities, and to communicate operational results, service levels, risks, and issues clearly and meaningfully to internal and third-party stakeholders.
- Strong ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and third-party stakeholders to support service delivery and resolve operational issues.
- Ability to provide daily leadership, coaching, and workload management for employees, fostering accountability, engagement, and effective functional execution.
- Ability to represent the functional area on strategic and operational initiatives, supporting impact assessments, requirements definition, testing, implementation, and change adoption.
- Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions offered in Quebec.
