About the Role

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as a Construction Technology Specialist within the eConstruction Section of the Construction and Materials Bureau (CMB). This role participates in training and guidance initiatives for the CMS and related Bureau technologies, potentially coordinating training curricula and guidance documents with stakeholders. The position requires familiarity with construction management tools and business processes, and experience with SharePoint for document management.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, coordination, and implementation of training curricula and guidance materials.
  • Collaborate with Construction and Materials staff to ensure training and guidance resources remain current.
  • Utilize SharePoint to host, maintain, publish, and communicate training and guidance resources.
  • Obtain skills of an experienced user of the Agency's Construction Management System and related technologies.
  • Increase familiarization with the Agency's construction and materials business processes for incorporation into training and guidance resources.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with CMS functionality or similar construction management tools.
  • Capability and willingness to become an expert user of the CMS.
  • Familiarity with construction and/or materials management business processes.
  • Work experience in document and resource management utilizing SharePoint.
  • Possess private means of transportation.
  • Fieldwork may involve exposure to construction sites and varying weather conditions.
  • Some work outside of regular hours may be required.

  • Associate’s degree in engineering, data science, data analysis, geographic information systems, information technology or other closely related field AND four (4) or more years of experience in a technical support role in a field related to construction.
  • Six (6) or more years of experience in a technical support role in a field related to construction.
