About the Role

The Seeds to Trees College Intern will assist staff in implementing an environmental education program for elementary and middle school students, focusing on urban ecology, forest ecology, marine ecology, parks stewardship, and conservation. The role involves hands-on classroom and outdoor field experiences, blending practical implementation with professional development for teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing the environmental education program in NYC Parks and Schools.
  • Facilitate Seeds to Trees activities, primarily in the field and occasionally in the classroom.
  • Provide logistical support and complete administrative duties, including lesson material preparation and living collection care.
  • Support the gathering of digital materials and anecdotes for marketing purposes.
  • Assist with data collection and recordkeeping.
  • Help transport, maintain, and store program gear.

Requirements

  • Must be available from early October to late November.
  • Must be available 10-16 hours per week.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • City Parks Foundation does not offer visa sponsorship.
