About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work at the intersection of Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering, transforming data into tools and models that enhance decision-making for crews and planners, and contribute to sustainable aviation solutions. The role emphasizes productionizing robust models at scale in live environments, covering analysis, development, testing, monitoring, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Extracting insights from fast-growing operational and flight data sources
- Building and productionizing AI/ML models for flight delay prediction, maintenance planning optimization, and crew scheduling support
- Contributing to large-scale optimization and simulation projects
- Developing tools to increase transparency of complex operational processes for planners and crews, enabling faster decision-making
- Working with real-time data and smart calculations to improve passenger and crew experience
Requirements
- A background in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Operations Research
- 4-6 years of work experience as a Data Scientist or ML Engineer
- Hands-on experience with both Data Science (modeling, analysis) and Machine Learning, including productionizing models
- Knowledge of open-source technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or Kubernetes
- Customer focus and a strong can-do mentality
- Focus on results and a desire to complete challenging tasks
- Willingness to learn while doing
