About the Role
The Tax Associate supports the execution of tax compliance and tax-related activities across multiple jurisdictions. This role assists in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and internal policies, monitors tax developments, and contributes to process improvements. The position is limited to 2 years and is full-time.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and execution of local tax compliance processes, including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales Lists, property taxes, corporate income tax, recapitulative statements, road and toll taxes, and other local tax obligations.
- Support tax-related reporting projects, tax audits, and requests from tax authorities.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of tax adjustments, corrections, and reconciliations for indirect and direct taxes.
- Calculate, prepare, and post tax accruals and provisions as part of the monthly and annual closing processes.
- Monitor tax deadlines and support the timely submission of tax returns and reports.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardization of tax processes, controls, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Preferably academic degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Primary professional experience in the field of Tax and Compliance; GL experience can be relevant too.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are considered an asset.
- Knowledge of VAT compliance, as well as Intrastat & VAT reporting and other local taxes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a dynamic environment.
- Proactive team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a service-driven attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Interest in digitalization, automation, and continuous process improvement within the tax and finance environment.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is an advantage.
