About the Role
Ness is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering with a strong product engineering background and a passion for engineering and creating products to solve business problems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technology leadership, vision, and guidance to engineering and product development teams, driving innovation.
- Deliver customer-focused business outcomes using Java full-stack/Cloud computing (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS) with deep domain experience.
- Manage P&L and Gross Margins to support business growth through superior delivery.
- Ensure timely project delivery, manage scope changes, and convert them to revenue.
- Lead customer relations and management at the organization level.
- Ensure positive business outcomes through predictability, productivity, and quality via defined processes.
- Increase speed-to-value and institutionalize Agile practices sustainably.
- Develop roadmaps that increase value over time.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for organization-led innovation and development.
- Lead talent transformation initiatives, including retention, attraction, upskilling, and certifications.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure organizational goals are met.
- Grow the Halifax nearshore engineering center.
- Support M&A activities and own the integration of acquired entities in NA/LATAM.
Requirements

- Hands-on expertise in converting a product roadmap to an engineering roadmap.
- Expertise in product lifecycle development with varied roles across 20+ years.
- Extremely customer-centric with the ability to lead customer relations and management at the organization level.
- Up-to-date with industry trends and new/emerging technologies.
- Tech savvy with a "build" mindset and passion for IP building and development.
- Experience with IP Led transformation models (Assets, Frameworks, Accelerators, POCs, Patents etc.).
- Hands-on experience in product engineering, design, and architecture.
- Ability to guide teams during pre-sales and execution.
- Flexible and willing to embrace change and promote innovation.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills.
- Maintain high standards of work practices, integrity, respect, and confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all employee levels, from entry-level to Global Leadership.
