About the Role

Performs phlebotomy procedures and processes specimens in a safe, accurate, and professional manner. Delivers patient care appropriate to patient age, physical ability, and intellectual development. Interacts pleasantly, efficiently, and cooperatively with patients, volunteers, and coworkers. Monitors patients for unexpected reactions and responds to emergencies. Provides and receives constructive feedback. Collaborates with laboratory and hospital staff for efficient sample collection and transport. Assesses and meets patient's age-specific needs for sample collection. Performs various Lab Aid, receptionist, clerical, and administrative assistant duties.

  • Performs phlebotomy procedures and processes specimens.
  • Delivers patient care appropriate to patient age, physical ability, and intellectual development.
  • Interacts with patients, volunteers, and coworkers in a pleasant, efficient, and cooperative manner.
  • Monitors patients for unexpected reactions and responds to emergency situations.
  • Provides and receives constructive feedback from laboratory leadership.
  • Works collaboratively with laboratory and hospital staff for efficient and timely sample collection and transport.
  • Assesses patient's age specific needs and appropriately collects samples.
  • Performs a variety of Lab Aid, receptionist, clerical, and administrative assistant duties.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent with some knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Enthusiastic personality with excellent customer service and people skills.
  • Data entry and typing skills required.
  • Up to 6 months of experience required for data entry proficiency.
  • Up to 6 months of on-the-job experience required for proficiency.
