About the Role
Finn Partners' Travel team is seeking an outstanding Senior Account Executive with 3+ years of public relations experience in the luxury travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. This role requires exceptional communication, organization, and a proactive attitude to effectively manage PR workloads across various client accounts.
Responsibilities
- Lead junior PR team members through mentoring, delegation, professional development, and knowledge sharing.
- Serve as a client point of contact, manage day-to-day account activities, and provide strategic PR counsel.
- Execute and manage PR initiatives including plans, strategy documents, press trips, media events, and appointments.
- Edit press releases/pitches, build distribution lists, and review PR reports to create messaging, original content, and media pitches.
- Spearhead PR campaigns and pitching for clients to achieve annual PR objectives.
- Pitch across a broad range of media, including social media channels, to secure high-profile coverage.
- Develop client-specific media strategies, goals, and pitch angles with minimal senior leadership input.
- Lead daily client public relations account activities, developing and managing timelines and action plans.
- Anticipate and proactively offer solutions to senior team leadership for executional issues.
- Participate in new business proposals, team brainstorm sessions, and staff meetings.
- Develop strong relationships with client contacts and advance communications strategies aligned with client strategy and positioning.
- Cultivate relationships with national, regional, and online media, freelancers, and influencers.
- Identify industry trends and build creative, strategic pitches to support them.
- Maintain current knowledge of clients, their industries, and competitors through news outlets and business landscape monitoring.
- Continuously explore and assess value-added solutions and new ideas for implementation.
- Collaborate with junior and senior Travel PR staff to support clients and grow the practice.
- Support new business opportunities development, RFPs, proposals, research, program development, and presentations.
- Provide thought leadership strategy and ideas for clients.
Requirements
- 3+ years of prior experience working at a PR agency with travel and luxury hospitality clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience working with traditional and new media, social media, and digital campaigns.
- Proven experience in pitching stories to top-tier consumer media outlets, including travel, lifestyle, and consumer business titles.
- Experience in writing and managing client programs and reports.
- Knowledge of the travel industry from both B2B and B2C standpoints is highly desired.
- Solid project management and client relationship skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation, editing, and strong attention to detail.
- Experience in developing Awards & Rankings submissions, including strategy, research, and writing.
- Experience supporting the development of stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Experience working with Trendkite, Cision, Muckrack, and other measurement platforms.
