About the Role
Seeking a hands-on Terraform engineer with proven experience automating network infrastructure for a six-week full-time contract engagement. The role focuses on automating the deployment and configuration of network devices using Terraform, with no cloud platforms involved.
Responsibilities
- Design and build Terraform modules to automate deployment and configuration of network devices.
- Integrate Terraform with network device providers and APIs.
- Translate manual network configuration processes into repeatable Infrastructure as Code.
- Validate, test, and troubleshoot Terraform plans and applies against live network environments.
- Document module structure, variables, and usage for the client team.
- Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to confirm requirements and scope.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience using Terraform for network device automation.
- Strong LAN and WAN automation and configuration expertise.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts including routing, switching, VLANs, and device configuration.
- Familiarity with Terraform providers relevant to networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Juniper).
- Comfortable working in a version-controlled environment (Git).
- Ability to work independently and deliver against a compressed timeline.
