About the Role

The Vice President will operate as a core driver and manager across disclosure production, regulatory implementation, and cross-functional governance – bridging day-to-day execution with strategic oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end production of ESG regulatory disclosures across group and legal entities, ensuring alignment with BNY policies, controls, and procedures.
  • Drive enterprise-wide implementation of ESG regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC climate rules, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ISSB) and centrally coordinate legal entity-level ESG regulatory implementation.
  • Develop and maintain an entity-by-entity disclosure inventory and requirements traceability matrix, while enhancing documentation protocols, including evidence retention and change management.
  • Partner cross-functionally to scope ESG regulatory requirements and embed them across the three lines of defense.
  • Run enterprise/legal entity governance routines: steering meetings, issue/risk logs, decision memos, and escalation paths to Controllership and Risk committees; prepare board/committee materials where required.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory regimes and supervisory expectations, conduct impact assessments and gap analyses specific to legal entities and drive implementation roadmaps to closure.
  • Produce management-ready documentation: requirements traceability, control walkthroughs, testing results, remediation plans, and attestation packages for regulatory filings and audits.
  • Support matrixed reviews for enterprise-level and legal-entity disclosures: drive consistency of language, appropriate disclosure levels, and heightened sensitivity to regulatory and cross-market considerations.

Requirements

  • Experience in financial services with exposure to ESG, sustainability, compliance, risk/control functions, or related field; bachelor’s degree required.
  • Hands-on experience driving regulatory implementations and/or reporting is a must.
  • Strong understanding of ESG reporting standards and disclosure requirements, including familiarity in regulatory regimes and voluntary frameworks (e.g., TCFD, ISSB).
  • Proven success in cross-functional, matrixed project management —balancing speed, accuracy, and stakeholder alignment under regulatory timelines.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear, decision-ready materials for senior stakeholders; adept at guiding peers and partners through evolving requirements.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong time management, and a solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
