Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain automated and manual test suites.
- Interact with project team members to ensure solutions are fully tested, meet customer requirements, and pass acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to the execution of manual and automated tests.
- Tackle complex infrastructure challenges with creative automation and configuration management solutions.
- Help improve and expand the coverage of deployment automation.
- Give suggestions on improvements of the application.
- Report, track, investigate, and manage defects.
- Critically evaluate product and testing requirements and decisions.
- Consistently take responsibility for the delivery of quality outcomes in a sustainable fashion.
- Develop healthy relationships within the team.
- Coordinate and perform tests at the quality control stage of the solution implementation lifecycle.
- Gather and study information regarding the business problem, solution requirements, and customer expectations.
- Translate business/system requirements into effective test scenarios and test cases.
- Maintain requirements traceability.
- Execute manual and automated test cases according to plan and document testing results.
- Confirm solutions meet requirements; identify, qualify, and document any defects.
- Study data collected during testing and evaluate the validity of the results.
- Perform exploratory testing to identify potential issues/defects.
- Create and develop appropriate data for test scenarios and test cases.
- Support the project team and advocate for the quality of solutions.
- Advise the Test Lead of potential issues, risks, and impacts associated with the solution.
- Identify and analyze issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, recommending and facilitating solutions.
- Continue testing and analysis until results are within acceptable product requirements and specifications.
- Evaluate software fit for purpose by applying an understanding of how it will be used in the real world.
- Consider non-functional requirements and find creative ways to break software to help build robust, reliable applications.
- Produce easily understandable testing objectives and test artifacts.
- Design test suites using an understanding of how products fit into solutions for a customer.
- Develop automated tests conforming to industry standards.
- Interpret security, clinical safety, and privacy policies and contribute to team standards and guidelines.
- Evaluate and use advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant technologies, testing techniques, and test approaches.
- Pro-actively share knowledge within the team and actively participate within the wider testing and software development communities.
- Plan own work to meet objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
- 3-5 years in software testing in relevant technologies.
- Experience with testing and configuration management tools and techniques is a plus.
- Experience testing web-based solutions and data integration solutions.
- Experience using testing tools and issue/defect tracking tools.
- Preferred understanding of technical concepts including HTTP, HTML, web services, XML, javascript, messaging, Linux, Oracle DB, and SQL.
- Software development experience preferred – programming on java, javascript, cucumber, selenium, etc.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and continuous integration tools.
- Experience in designing test plans, test scenarios, and test activities.
- Exposure to big data technologies is a plus – Apache Spark, Elastic search, Cassandra.
- Healthcare domain expertise working with data/analytics technologies is a bonus.
