About the Role

Soho House is seeking a highly connected and energetic Communications Publicist to maintain and grow its reputation in New York. This relationship-led role focuses on building meaningful connections with journalists, creators, and cultural influencers to generate compelling stories and coverage across the New York portfolio, including Houses, Soho Home, Soho Works, and public restaurants.

Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day media, creator, and influencer relations for Soho House’s New York portfolio.
  • Build and maintain an active, high-quality network of New York journalists, editors, creators, cultural figures, and tastemakers.
  • Develop and implement targeted communications activity to generate meaningful coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and social channels.
  • Pitch creatively and proactively, identifying compelling stories and the right outreach moments.
  • Build authentic relationships with New York-based content creators and influencers.
  • Invite NY-based media and cultural voices to Soho House experiences, events, and Houses.
  • Identify opportunities to amplify distinctive people, places, experiences, and stories within New York.
  • Support major New York launches, events, partnerships, and cultural moments with strong local communications.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality New York publicity materials.
  • Be visible and well-connected within the New York media and cultural landscape.
  • Monitor New York media and social conversation, providing insights and identifying potential reputation impacts.
  • Establish a close working partnership to strengthen the overall New York communications operation.

Requirements

  • An established and active network of New York media contacts, journalists, editors, and cultural voices.
  • Strong relationships with relevant New York-based content creators and an understanding of cultural relevance.
  • A contact list of PRs across culturally relevant lifestyle and creative brands.
  • A proven track record of generating quality media coverage and organic creator content in New York.
  • Natural curiosity about New York and understanding of its cultural landscape, neighborhoods, personalities, and conversations.
  • Excellent judgment about what makes a good story and how to make it relevant.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to adopt Soho House’s tone of voice.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Calm under pressure, adaptable, and comfortable changing direction.
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves, can-do attitude; proactive in seeking opportunities.
  • A collaborative team player who will work closely with, support, and complement the existing Americas and Global communications team.
