About the Role
You will own the infrastructure that Gyde’s AI-native brokerage platform runs on. This role involves managing a growing environment in scale and tenancy each quarter, ensuring it remains secure, auditable, and predictable. You will work on projects that span from business problems to application engineering, including cloud infrastructure, TypeScript development, data modeling, and workflow orchestration, while also considering security, compliance, and cost as key design inputs.
Responsibilities
- Own the chain from problem to running control, taking ambiguous business or platform problems from audit and data modeling through to implementation and instrumentation.
- Build production TypeScript in shared packages, Temporal workers, data models, SQL migrations, and internal services within a monorepo.
- Run the cloud platform, including EKS, AWS defined in Pulumi, CI/CD, secrets and workload identity, and observability.
- Evaluate and integrate purchased systems, including identity, orchestration, model gateways, and vendor APIs, focusing on enforceable controls.
- Make security and compliance enforceable through least-privilege IAM, BAA adherence, data classification, PHI-aware logging, and audit trails.
- Own cost as an engineering surface, managing LLM and infrastructure spend, reconciliation, and alerting for runaway costs.
Requirements
- 5–10 years in infrastructure, platform, SRE, or DevOps engineering with meaningful production ownership.
- Production Kubernetes experience (EKS preferred), including cluster upgrades, autoscaling, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Strong AWS fundamentals: IAM, VPC, compute, storage, KMS, and understanding of the cost model.
- Infrastructure as code experience (Pulumi preferred; Terraform or CDK acceptable).
- Production TypeScript or Node.js experience, with a focus on shipping real application code.
- Relational data modeling and SQL experience (Postgres preferred), including writing and reviewing migrations.
- Experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or comparable).
- Practical experience with observability: metrics, logs, distributed tracing, and trusted alerting.
- Experience operating in a HIPAA, SOC 2, or similarly regulated and audited environment.
- A habit of writing design docs, RFCs, or postmortems.
- Fluency with AI coding tools for daily work.
