About the Role
The Social Media Manager will build, grow, and nurture brand pages and communities, serving as the primary voice for clients and fostering meaningful engagement across social platforms. This role develops and executes social-first strategies to drive loyalty and strengthen connections between creators, content, and brands, while gathering insights and shaping community sentiment.
Responsibilities
- Manage brand-owned social media accounts across primary platforms.
- Moderate conversations and represent client brand voice consistently.
- Lead proactive and reactive community management by overseeing posting schedules and engaging across comments, DMs, mentions, cultural conversations, and community inquiries.
- Leverage social listening to identify engagement opportunities, emerging conversations, and audience insights.
- Build scalable frameworks that drive UGC, participation, and community advocacy.
- Proactively identify and elevate complex community concerns, potential brand risks, and urgent crisis scenarios to key internal partners.
- Develop and manage content calendars aligned to brand strategy, campaign objectives, and key cultural moments.
- Create engaging, platform-native social content and copy tailored to each channel and audience.
- Partner directly with content creators to brief, develop, review, and optimize social content.
- Publish and optimize content across social platforms, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Monitor emerging trends and identify opportunities for reactive, culturally relevant content.
- Interpret performance data and apply actionable learnings to content strategy and community engagement.
- Gather community feedback loops and manage community sentiment.
- Translate social data into actionable recommendations to optimize campaigns and community growth.
- Partner cross-functionally with Strategy, Creative, and Client Services to ensure social content and community management align with campaign objectives and brand strategy.
- Collaborate with content creators to provide guidance and feedback throughout content development.
- Facilitate transparent communication regarding community sentiment and performance insights.
- Proactively communicate risks, opportunities, and recommendations to support agile decision-making and successful campaign execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in marketing, social media, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in social media management, community management, or digital marketing, preferably within an agency environment.
- Proven experience creating, publishing, and managing platform-native social content across major social platforms, including Meta, TikTok, X, and Pinterest.
- Excellent copywriting and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone, voice, and messaging across multiple brands and social platforms.
- Experience using social media management, publishing, and content creation tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, emerging trends, algorithms, and platform best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to notice the "little things" that drive deeper audience connection.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple agency disciplines and stakeholders.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while managing competing priorities and responding to real-time social and cultural moments.
