About the Role

Blackstone is seeking a Vice President for the Real Estate Legal and Compliance team in New York. The candidate will support Real Estate funds, acting as a key liaison between fund formation attorneys, transaction attorneys, and the Legal and Compliance team. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with various Real Estate business units.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review private placement memoranda, collaborating with institutional client group and portfolio management on business content and managing outside fund counsel.
  • Review and provide input on compliance and operations-related investor side letter provisions for fundraisers.
  • Liaise with US and Luxembourg AML teams on AML reviews of prospective and existing investors.
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain fund-specific policies and procedures (e.g., excuse rights, transfer, redemption, NAV, valuation).
  • Oversee compliance for acquisitions and dispositions, including documentation of allocation, identification of investor excuse rights, and adherence to fund investment limitations.
  • Provide day-to-day support to fund accounting, tax, and portfolio management teams in interpreting and applying limited partnership agreement and side letter obligations.
  • Assist institutional client group and portfolio management in facilitating investor fund transfer and conversion requests.
  • Conduct quarterly review and confirmation of compliance with limited partnership agreement and investor side letter obligations.
  • Coordinate annual compliance meetings for investing funds to review obligations and key topics with relevant teams and counsel.
  • Support Real Estate Legal and Compliance team in preparing and ensuring timely submission of Form D, Form PF, AIFMD, and Form ADV.
  • Oversee and manage junior Real Estate Legal and Compliance team members in executing responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience.
  • Strong team player with a desire to contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional ability to independently manage disparate workstreams.
  • Strong work ethic, sound judgment, initiative, creativity, and drive.
