About the Role
Temporal is seeking a Vice President, Global Controller to build and lead accounting, tax, treasury, and procurement functions. - Own global procurement and vendor management: source-to-pay processes, contract negotiation, spend management, and purchasing policies.
- Design and scale accounting infrastructure, systems, and processes (ERP, billing, close automation) to support revenue growth.
- Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment (SOX-ready), including policies, procedures, and audit readiness.
- Lead all aspects of the annual financial statement audit and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Guide international expansion from a finance and accounting perspective: entity structuring, local compliance, and building finance operations.
- Partner with the CFO and cross-functional leaders on deal structuring, contract review, and revenue recognition for new pricing models.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing global accounting and tax team.
- Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting to executive leadership, the board of directors, and investors.
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including significant leadership in a high-growth SaaS or consumption/usage-based software company (private and public).
- CPA required; Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred.
- Deep expertise in US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for consumption/usage-based models.
- Proven experience building or scaling tax and treasury functions, including international tax and multi-entity/multi-currency operations.
- Track record of scaling accounting infrastructure and teams through rapid growth, ideally including international expansion.
- Experience preparing an organization for an IPO is strongly preferred.
- Experience owning or partnering closely with procurement/vendor management, including contract negotiation and spend controls.
- Strong systems acumen (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, or similar ERP; billing platforms for usage-based revenue).
