About the Role

The Asset Manager will oversee utility-scale photovoltaic assets, including Agri PV projects, ensuring technical performance, financial returns, regulatory compliance, and asset value. This role requires strategic thinking, operational oversight, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external parties.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal technical performance and availability of PV plants, including HV/MV/LV systems, modules, inverters, substations, and BESS.
  • Monitor plant performance using SCADA, including PR analysis, loss analysis, availability KPIs, and degradation trends.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess maintenance activities, WHSE, site conditions, and manage landlords/contractors.
  • Monitor preventative and corrective maintenance activities and ensure compliance with response times.
  • Identify, analyze, and coordinate the resolution of technical issues.
  • Manage major corrective interventions, component replacements, and warranty claims.
  • Oversee HV/MV infrastructure, including substations, protection systems, and DSO/TSO interfaces.
  • Support technical input for repowering, revamping, and optimization initiatives.
  • Support negotiation of O&M and asset management agreements.
  • Provide input for future asset management and coordinate handover activities with the construction team.
  • Coordinate and supervise agricultural activities within agrivoltaic plants.
  • Ensure alignment between PV operation requirements and agricultural practices.
  • Liaise with agronomists, farming contractors, and landowners.
  • Monitor compliance with agrivoltaic permits, incentives, and GSE requirements.
  • Manage and document agricultural KPIs and reporting obligations.
  • Support the Origination Team in managing relationships with utilities and off-takers under PPAs, overseeing billing, metering, and settlement.
  • Manage contracts with external service providers, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance.
  • Facilitate performance reviews, contract renewals, and issue resolution.
  • Support internal reporting with regular updates on asset performance.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including KPIs and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with grid operators regarding curtailment compliance and mitigation.
  • Support the Finance Business Partner to ensure compliance with loan covenants and reporting obligations.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and financial reviews as required.
  • Maintain communication with local authorities and regulators.
  • Represent the company in community meetings or public forums when necessary.
  • Cooperate with the WHSEQ Team on compliance with environmental and land use permits.
  • Support the WHSEQ Team in adherence to occupational health and safety standards.
  • Work closely with legal, finance, and CoSec teams to align asset strategy and operations.
  • Provide commercial insights to support cross-functional decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner to assess EBITDA KPIs and identify improvement areas.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks across the asset portfolio.
  • Support insurance strategy and placement, providing input for claims management.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner in monitoring and analyzing financial performance, P&L trends, cash flow, and ROI.
  • Provide commercial and operational input for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Support the preparation of stakeholders' reports with accurate commercial assumptions and asset performance data.
  • Ensure timely invoicing, revenue recognition, and cost tracking with the Finance team.

Requirements

  • Proven strong experience in large utility-scale solar PV asset management, ideally with Italian Assets.
  • Responsibility for optimizing technical performance, availability, and long-term asset value.
  • Strong technical knowledge of PV plant operations, including HV/MV/LV electrical systems, substations, inverters, SCADA systems, and plant performance analysis.
  • Experience managing O&M contractors, EPCs, and other service providers.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance strategies, warranty management, and contract performance.
  • Sound commercial acumen, including experience supporting PPAs, budgeting, forecasting, financial performance monitoring, and operational reporting.
  • Good understanding of grid operations, regulatory compliance, health & safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging lenders, utilities, grid operators, local authorities, landowners, and external contractors.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of agrivoltaic projects and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) would be advantageous.
  • Full professional proficiency in both Italian and English is essential.
