About the Role

New City Oral Surgery is seeking a Surgical Dental Assistant to join their team. They are dedicated to providing best-in-class patient care with a guiding principle of empathy, aiming to transform the dental experience. This role offers an opportunity to pioneer a new culture of dentistry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists, including charting, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
  • Record and review patient health history, make chart entries under the doctor's direction, and ensure completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Review the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Prepare patients, sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, maintain chain of asepsis, prepare materials, and assist dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
  • Expose and develop dental diagnostic radiographs.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.

Requirements

  • Dental Assisting Certification or prior on the job training.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.
  • Radiography/X-RAY certification for respective state.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients.
