About the Role
RSM's Transaction Tax Automation (TTA) practice is seeking an experienced and self-motivated professional to join its dynamic, collaborative, and expanding State and Local Sales and Use Tax Automation practice. The team leverages technology platforms to enhance clients' indirect tax compliance. This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of an expanding State and Local Tax (SALT) practice within a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships and targeting efforts for sales and use tax automation projects.
- Manage and maintain daily project tasks and work plans for specific clients.
- Perform project management responsibilities and develop deliverables related to client implementation requirements in collaboration with client and RSM staff.
- Coordinate resources for implementing sales and use tax systems, including process mapping, functional and system design documentation, system configuration, user acceptance testing, and training.
- Develop and manage project scope and budgets.
- Develop vendor and client relationships.
- Identify and facilitate the sale of add-on services for other RSM business lines.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Requires CPA, EA, or other accredited designation demonstrating above-average knowledge of sales and use tax application (CMI, APS, etc.).
- Requires a minimum of eight (8) years of Sales and Use Tax experience.
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years of sales and use tax technical experience with a focus on implementing sales and use tax automation systems for customer sales and vendor purchases.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax automation solutions (e.g., Thomson Reuters Indirect Tax Determination, Vertex Inc.’s suite of products, Avalara’s solutions) and their integration with middle market Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamic Systems, NetSuite).
