The Production Supervisor at Qualitrol in Fairport, NY, oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe production while meeting quality standards and production targets.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality specifications
- Manage, train, and motivate production workers; foster a positive, productive work environment
- Monitor processes to meet quality standards; implement corrective actions when needed
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct inspections, and provide safety training
- Identify and implement efficiency gains, reduce waste, and lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen events)
- Track raw materials and finished goods; coordinate with procurement for timely material availability
- Maintain production data records; prepare and submit reports to the Plant Manager
- Address and resolve production issues promptly to minimize disruptions
- Serve as a liaison between management and production staff, ensuring clear communication of goals, changes, and updates
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with manufacturing software/tools
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
