About the Role

The Doe Fund is seeking a Per Diem House Manager to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of a facility and trainee rooms at the Harlem One location in Harlem, NY. This role is crucial for supporting the Ready, Willing & Able program, which aims to break cycles of homelessness and recidivism through work and housing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility inspections and ensure cleanliness of the facility and outside areas.
  • Inspect trainee rooms daily.
  • Coordinate and oversee rubbish and snow removal.
  • Evaluate and document maintenance needs for the facility and trainee rooms.
  • Request necessary supplies and equipment for facility maintenance and cleaning.
  • Supervise and train in-house cleaning and laundry crews.
  • Provide program orientation for new trainees, including room and supply assignments.
  • Assign in-house job functions.
  • Report infractions and behavioral problems, and enter Incident Reports into the CARES database.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and physically manage client belongings, including disposal.
  • Certifications in CPF/First Aid, F80/Fire Safety & Alarm Systems (Homeless Shelter), and Naloxone preferred; willingness to train during the probationary period if not certified.
  • Experience in human services, preferably with chemically dependent, formerly incarcerated, and/or homeless populations.
  • Computer literate, comfortable with databases and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email).
