About the Role
This is a management position overseeing one or more food and beverage outlets, kitchens, or banquet facilities. You will supervise team members, ensure operational efficiency, and contribute to guest satisfaction and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities, plan and assign work to ensure adequate staffing.
- Develop team performance through coaching, feedback, and setting goals.
- Train colleagues on compliance and service standards.
- Initiate HR actions as needed.
- Ensure food and beverage equipment is operational and clean.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in food and beverage facilities.
- Address maintenance and repair needs promptly.
- Achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals, handling requests and complaints.
- Manage hotel food and beverage marketing programs and promotions.
- Monitor competitor activity and industry innovation.
- Approve menu design and concepts with the Executive Chef.
- Ensure secure storage of food and drinks, managing stock to minimize waste.
- Handle food and beverage inventory procedures, determining stock levels.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
- Assist in preparing the hotel’s annual budget and departmental goals.
- Monitor budget and control expenses, focusing on food, beverage, and labor costs.
- Identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue in collaboration with the catering office.
- Drive promotions that offer guests great dining experiences at good value.
- Ensure secure handling of credit and financial transactions.
Requirements
- Some college and/or advanced training in food and beverage management.
- 2 years of related experience, including supervisory experience in a unionized environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification in Hotel Management, culinary arts, or related field preferred.
- Must speak local language.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card, as required by local law.
