About the Role

The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated Modified Football Assistant Coach for Corcoran High School for the Fall 2026 season. This role is part of a district-wide initiative to innovate and transform education, ensuring all students graduate ready for college and career.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a coach for student athletes in grades 7-12.
  • Emphasize discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and the value of hard work.
  • Prepare young student athletes for higher levels of competition.
  • Stress the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.

Requirements

  • New York State Coaching Certification.
  • Valid First Aid course.
  • Valid Adult CPR certification.
  • Workshop - Child Abuse Identification.
  • Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention.
  • Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA).
  • Fingerprint Clearance.
  • School District Recommendation.
  • Pass a fingerprint-based background check ($102.50 cost to candidate).
